**Revised to add (yes, at the beginning): How could I forget the part about getting a random "Contact Us" form from the LLC's one and only ANNE a couple of weeks ago? How about the part where she's coming to stay at "my" hotel tonight with a conference...out of Washington DC, of all places. What the hell, dude?
It all started last week.
Sunday: On the way back from Duluth I hear that my freshman college roommate is the winner of concert tickets by being the whatevereth caller on whatever station. Apparently she lives in Plymouth now. Thinking about her still makes want to sandpaper my face off.
Monday: I end up leaving work late because douchebag sales manager requires me to do her douchebag work and therefore miss my bus. I decide to take home a different route that I think will drop me off only a couple of blocks away from my apartment, but the route ends about a mile away. So, while walking back, I run into Darren’s parents, who are out for a stroll.
Tuesday: On the bus home, I end up sitting next to Rachel’s husband, Chris. I am so shocked to see a familiar face that I mentally decide it can’t be him. Then he talks! And it’s Chris!
Wednesday: Out to eat with Darren, I hear someone yell my name, and it is none other than one of “my” sales managers – one that I love, not the douchebag. She is at the restaurant with “my” controller and the guy that used to have Missy’s job. The next day, she tells me that Sven the weather guy was at the restaurant as well – spotted by the homosexual ex-admin, go figure. Sven just cannot get out of my life.
Thursday: Shaun is our usher at the game. Not unheard of since I know he moonlights at the ‘Dome, but still a little strange that he is our section’s man. And a lucky section we are, because Shaun’s awesome.
Saturday: Angie and I are going for a walk in a park in Eagan that I’ve never been to before. As we are finishing up our walk after only a few (not 18) short miles, we come upon a little blonde girl riding her bike and her mom walking behind her. After we walk by, Angie points out that the little girl was Grace, my cousin’s daughter who I have, sadly, never met. The woman walking behind the little girl was my cousin’s wife, Trina. It’s a good thing we stopped to say hi. Oh wait, we didn’t.
Today: I get a call that my appointment, Derek, is at the front desk waiting for me. Now, I don’t have an appointment set up and I knew I don’t, but sometimes these things happen, so I pretend I know him and act like I know we have plans. I begin our tour and notice he seems to be with some type of groom’s magazine, so I go about the tour without any questions at to his intentions, assuming he is compiling information for some type of magazine. After a few minutes of my spiel, he starts talking about the directions I had given him. I give him a stupid look, then he notices my nametag and realizes I am the wrong Amanda…and he is at the wrong hotel. Just so happens the wedding coordinator at the hotel across the street’s name is Amanda. He ends up coming back for a tour after he finishes up across the street.
Next I hope to run into Francisco Liriano in the skyway, because word has it he has been spending some time in the sections near the hotel. I’m pretty sure he’s just waiting to meet me so I can teach him English and make him my bitch.
